A Better Path to Relief

When Dan joined the plan, he had already been struggling with psoriasis for years. His condition had become increasingly difficult to manage, with painful plaques covering nearly half his body and affecting his comfort, sleep and everyday activities. Previous treatments were no longer providing the relief he needed, and his dermatologist knew it was time to consider a specialty medication.

But finding the right treatment can take time. With several biologic therapies available, patients may go through months of trial and error before finding one that works. That can further delay relief while adding significant cost.

Fortunately, Dan’s plan included the WellManaged Inflammatory program. Through the program, a WellDyne pharmacist identified an opportunity to give Dan and his dermatologist more information before choosing the next therapy. The clinical pharmacist recommended precision medicine testing to help identify which type of biologic was most likely to work for Dan. Without this personalized insight, nearly half of patients may not respond to their first therapy. With precision medicine testing, that rate drops to less than 10%.

WellDyne coordinated the testing process, including convenient sample collection, and worked directly with Dan’s dermatologist once the results were available. With greater insight into the treatment most likely to work for Dan, his care team was able to make a more informed decision and start therapy sooner.

Most importantly, Dan started seeing improvement. His symptoms became more manageable, flare-ups decreased and everyday life became a little easier again.

After months of uncertainty and frustration, Dan had a renewed sense of hope about the path ahead. For his care team, better information meant greater confidence in the treatment decision and the opportunity to avoid unnecessary trial and error.

Personalized insight created a more direct path to relief. We’ll show the way.
